Stinky Socks

I was recently given a sample of Purex Complete 3-in-1 to try.  Its a pretty cool concept. You throw the sheet into your washing machine where is acts as a detergent and softener, then after your put your clothes in the tumble-dryer the sheet is then your anti-static solution.

I was surprised how well they worked and they smelled pretty good too.

It looks like my friends South of the border can try a free sample by going to the Purex website - maybe this is Purex's way of getting Americans to smell sweeter :)

This same friend also shared a mother-in-law secret for keeping gym-bags odour-free: stick a laundry sheet in the bottom of your bag, or locker and the pong will just disappear - TA DAH!!!

  1. Amanda, I really love your blog and enjoy reading your posts. However, with all due respect, I am so surprised to see you encouraging the use of something like these Purex sheets. They are just covered in chemicals. Natural detergents are so much better for the environment and your own health. And fabric softeners are totally unnecessary and unhealthy. What's more... these things are not even biodegradable. I really enourage you and your readers to buy products that are more environmetally friendly and better for your health.

  2. Hi Jill, thanks for your comment. I am not sure if you have read their website, but PUREX is probably the most environmentally friendly out of the conventional laundry brands. They've taken great strides in reducing surfactants etc. I also was surprised to learn recently that environmentally friendly soaps like Method use petro chemicals.

I respect your comments and would continue to encourage your input on this blog.
