short sport skirts
I love this product, my friend at the gym wears one of these skirts and they look so stylish, yet are so practical. The Canadian Outlet, currently has a 50% sale on, so check it out for some great bargains.
The philosophy of the the company is that fitness can be fashionable, flattering and most of all functional. The women who created the product are busy mothers, who also run marathons. They claim these skirts are great for 5k, marathon, ultra-marathon or ironman triathlon or our own everyday "ironmom" triathlon: run, school & soccer.
The skirts are made with a special sweat-wicking fabrics, our runner tested, high performance running skirts are very comfortable. Unlike shorts, there is nothing to bunch between the legs. These skirts are made without any interior seams that could cause rubbing and chaffing of your unmentionables (ouch!). The running skirt and attached brief stays put in all the right places...the skirt doesn't flip up and the briefs don't ride up (no, your bum doesn't show). The athletic skirt is made with compression shorts with longer inseams that stay put and don't ride up when you workout.
Nobody said you couldn't look good while you exercised :)

Do you have a Fitbook yet?
When I started working with Judy to help her lose the last remaining pounds after her second pregnancy, I wanted a way for her to record her food intake, exercise workouts and how she was feeling each day. I normally just grab a journal and record things in there, but then I was introduced to fitbook. So I bought her a one and she just loved it.
Now I am a sucker for nice books and this one is just great. It is superb quality and so much thought has gone into making this the perfect journal for fitness enthusiasts. It allows you to have a game plan, track your progress and reach your goals. Check out their website and see why I think its such a great product.

Meet Sista Shirts
I love this t-shirt called Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.
While surfing around on the web and checking out other fitness blogs, I came across two sisters, who have created a great line of sports apparel called Sistas Shirts.
It was founded in 2008 by two sisters, Heidi Hamels and Dawn Strobel, both marathon runners. They wanted to provide women designer apparel that could be worn casually that still shows off the fact that you're an athlete and runner. Sistas Shirts offers tank tops, short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees, sweat pants, and sweatshirts. All of their apparel has a fun athletic-inspired saying on it, many of which are running related.
Until a few months ago, there apparel could only be found on-line and at various marathons across the country. There apparel is now available to wholesalers and is featured in running stores and health/fitness stores.
A cool fact about one of the owners, Heidi Hamels (nee Strobel) is a former Survivor: Amazon contestant. I wonder how she felt eating all that disgusting food!! urghh
Check out the cool apparel at Sistas Shirts, and they have kindly offered a 15% discount to my readers, just enter the code: RUN15.
And now that Spring has arrived, you may even see me pounding the streets again, if only to get an hour away from the kids!

Things I love: AND I REALLY LOVE THIS!!!
I am a curry fiend. It is simply my most favourite food - EVER! I spent a few months in India eating the delicious food there and growing up in the UK makes it pretty impossible for me to not like a good Rogan Josh!
Over time I have become a bit of a curry snob and decided that if I was going to eat curry then I would just make my own. Anybody who has ever done this knows that it is a laborious job, which is definitely worth all the effort, but not many people have the time or inclination to undertake the task.
BUT NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO!! Shopping in my local supermarket last week I found this amazing new product called Kitchen Guru. The creators of this product have come up with an brilliant idea. Each package contains all the pre-measured, sealed herbs and spices you need to re-create an authentic Indian dish.
You then simply add all the other additional ingredients, cook for an hour and HEY PRESTO! you have a healthy, nutritious and great tasting curry. All with a prep time of approx. 10 mins.
WAAHH-HEEY NO MORE DEHLI BELLY!!

Stinky Socks
I was recently given a sample of Purex Complete 3-in-1 to try. Its a pretty cool concept. You throw the sheet into your washing machine where is acts as a detergent and softener, then after your put your clothes in the tumble-dryer the sheet is then your anti-static solution.
I was surprised how well they worked and they smelled pretty good too.
It looks like my friends South of the border can try a free sample by going to the Purex website - maybe this is Purex's way of getting Americans to smell sweeter :)
This same friend also shared a mother-in-law secret for keeping gym-bags odour-free: stick a laundry sheet in the bottom of your bag, or locker and the pong will just disappear - TA DAH!!!

And now for something completely different...
The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.
That’s why we recommend wearing FiveFingers for exercise, play, and for fun. Stimulating the muscles in your feet and lower legs will not only make you stronger and healthier, it improves your balance, agility and proprioception.
